First Impressions Matter

First impressions matter!  It’s true, you really do only get one chance to make a good first impression. And when the world of business is so fiercely competitive, this is something that needs to be right if you want to secure those all important clients and customers.

The way you portray and present yourself is how people will judge your business. Being late, sloppy, impolite or disorganized is simply going to give the impression that the rest of your company is run the same way. Here are some things to bear in mind when it comes to making a good first impression.

Hire The Right People

Some people are naturally charismatic, work well with people do well with persuading and convincing others. These are the kinds of people you need on your team when it comes to gaining clients.

When you’re hiring, look for people who have experience in this area, someone who is charming and a clear ‘people person’ is exactly the sort of individual you need (providing they’re also good at their job, of course).

Don’t Overlook Aesthetics

The way you look and present yourself is crucial when it comes to making a good impression. Employees making contact with clients should be impeccably dressed and well groomed wearing smart attire. If you’re hosting a meeting or event, spend some time researching the venue to ensure it’s exactly right.

You could look in an event company directory and hire someone to run and set everything up for you. You could even hire chauffeurs and luxury cars to show up in style. All of these details make such a difference, they make your company look legitimate and show that you’re doing well. This can build a level of trust from the client.

Upgrade Your Office

As well as making a good impression when you host events and travel to meetings, it’s also important that everything is as it should be when clients and customers come to you. Having a well-presented office is the perfect way to go about this.

If you choose an office with statement features such as a beautiful lobby and floor to ceiling windows, this is always going to look impressive. But painting any space in a light neutral shade will make it look clean, bright and spacious. Decorate with living plants, and choose the right lighting. This will prevent eye strain from workers and make your office look better too.

Even if all you have is a home office, there are specific things you should keep in mind when setting it up. Not only should your home office be functional, but first impressions matter when someone enters your space.

Make a Good Impression Online

First impressions matter online, perhaps more than when a customer is entering a physical space.  As well as in person, it’s crucial to make a good impression online too. Your website and app are two things to invest money into, work with an experienced designer and have them create something that’s perfect for your business.

You will need to ensure that they are well maintained too, slow loading and error pages can put people off tremendously. Excellent customer service features such as a live chat option also work well
